Re: Help Asap!!!!

to get the shift knob off there is a tiny clip in the front, neelde nose pliers or flathead terminal screwdriver.

i don't really understand the rest of your post, are you saying it feels as if it's going into 2nd, 4th or reverse but actually isn't.

sounds like one of the shift cables is not working properly, first place to cheak is under the hood, look towards where the enging and trans meet between the motor and firewall, there is a bracket that hold the two cables, one may have possible come out of the bracket and hence not working. I can't remember which one the fore-aft one would be though. somehtings telling me the one closest to the firewall

yeah you pull it out. be careful they fling out sometimes you don't want to lose it.

I would say it's got to be the fore-afty shift cable as you can still get 1-3-5

Re: Help Asap!!!!

ok so im looking at the two cables. one is to the side and one is directly in front. the one directly in front moves a silver bar in and out. the one on the side is not moving at all. im gonna take a poke in the dark, but im guessin the one on the left needs to be fixed in one way or the other...
I just looked at the clip and there is no way its comin out i cant grip it wit needle nose plyars. i cant pry it out wit screwdriver.... ruined my day...

sounds like it, take the shift knob off and the centre console out and look at the shifter assembly, i can't really remember what it look like in there both my cars are getragso it's a different set up. it could be you need a new shifter assembly
