Stick is actin kinda funny

Ok, so i got a 5 speed 98 z24, bought it 3 months ago, and ever since then the stick has been strangely sticky, and actually requires considerable force to put in gear and shift up thorugh second and third, 4th through 5th are smooth tho. And yes, i am puttin the clutch in completely, im not a complete idiot, along with te tranny being replaces about a month befoer i purchased the car.
Along a simlilar line, and probably connected to the prolbem in some way, is occaisonally, when i start the car, and go to put it in reverse, it seems like the clutch isnt completely disengaging the engine from w/e it does lol, i'm not exactly a car expert(in fact i know dick all, but i know that this isnt how it's supposed to act), and it grind like shit, and actually prevents me from putting it in reverse unless i through it through the otehr gears a couple times to "loosen" it up it seems

my 98 has been doing the EXACT same thing (to a T) for the last 3 years, it hasnt left me stranded yet...
what i do to get it out of first easily is not let off the accelerator all the way when pulling the stick back, same with reverses, sometimes reverse takes a couple tries, if you or anyone finds out exactly what this is, that'd be awesome

Re: Stick is actin kinda funny

Well, i hope this will help you too then, but i went to a shop to get my alarm issue resolved, and they noticed that i had a leak in my clutch fluid, and it was at about half full. They filled it and the shifting is ridiculously smooth now. If u havent checked that, i'd suggest giving it a shot, worked wonders.

Unfortunately, it's also a $350 repair to get the leak fixed, but at least i know the problem now
