Parked the '98 Amigo for 4 months. Only to drive another car. Went to start driving it again, and the battery was completely dead. Bought a new battery and popped it in, and it still won't start. Headlights will come on, and the fuel pump is working, but nothing, and I mean nothing else will work. Any one know what the problem might be?

Re: Amigo won't start
What happens when you turn the key to start it?

Re: Amigo won't start
Does the starter work? Your not clear on that in your post. If so, and it just doesn't fire up, it could be stale gas. Letting the gas sit for that long can make it go bad.

Re: Amigo won't start
Ok, sorry I wasn't clear. When I turn the key on, only the fuel pump, and idiot lights kick on. No clicking, noise from anything, nothing else. This Amigo has always worked good up to this point. Makes me wonder if buying a new battery was a waste of money. Because when the old battery was in, it did the same thing. Please , if you might know what it is, let me know. Thanks

Re: Amigo won't start
Make sure the terminals are tight and clean.
Check the grounds and the power cable to the starter to make sure they are clean. While you are there make sure a rodent hasnt chewn through any wires. If all that checks out then I would say the starter locked up and needs replaced.
