Question 98 Cavalier replace ac evaporator HELP!!

Please Help!! I have a 98 cav. and I want to replace the ac evaporator, does anyone have pics or step by step instuction on taking apart everything on inside of car in order to do this. You guys were very helpful with my radio removal and replace by giving me step by step with pics even... to know where all the screws were. Any help or instuctions I would be very greatful for on doing my ac evaporator removal and replacement. Thanks

Re: 98 Cavalier replace ac evaporator HELP!!

Id like the answer too. I'm planning to work on my AC system. I know that a filter/dryer should be installed/changed and that the whole system will have to be evacuated before recharging. Right now Im trying to find why my AC won't switch on. It has a charge but the compressor and the fan will not switch on. I recently had my heater core replaced. I think some connections were not plugged back in.

Re: 98 Cavalier replace ac evaporator HELP!!

I wish us both lots of luck on this job........not an easy one I know. I know a shop manual says it is about 6 hours labor. If your system stopped working at the time the heater core was replaced I would say you have a good chance that your right on your guess. I too know about all the discharging the ac system and that but what all has to come apart inside the car hmmmm and where are all the screws. I know it is somewhere behind the heater core..............OH BOY LOTS OF FUN!! Someone out here please HELP!! LOL
