Smile E-450 Ambulance

I am a member of an ambulance squad and it is my responsibility to keep them in top running order. Our 2004 E-450 6.0 Turbo Diesel. Most of the time in runs just fine. But every now and then while your driving it, or when its just idling the engine will cut out real fast, then as fast as it cut out, it runs normal again. Or some time's when idling it will just stall. I noticed this while I was backing it back in to the garage. It has had all the recalls done on it. And its hard to have the dealer fix it when the problem doesn't happen all the time and you can't really show them what its doing. So I'm hoping that some of you may have had this problem with this model. Any help will be good thanks.

Re: E-450 Ambulance

I Work For A County Transit Agency And We Have 85 Of These In A Bus Conversion. There Are Alot Of Problems With Egr's Getting Stuck. Some Dealerships Around The Cleveland Area That Don't Want To Deal With This And Ford Is Trying To Get Away From These Motors Because It Has Cost Them Major Money. They Are Currently Trying To Sue International Saying It Is Their Fault. 2007 Is The Last Year That Ford Is Putting In The E-series.
