Unhappy Code 341

95 Transport 3.8L
It hesitates on acceleration from a dead stop, and throws a code 341 - intermittent cam sensor.
I changed the cam sensor, but it made no difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Code 341

Checked the magnet for the cam sensor and it is secure and intact.
The scanner also showed code 113 - IAT high.
The car only has the hesitation problem when the engine is hot - When cold it runs fine. Also it only seems to hesitate below 60 Km/h.
Went ahead and changed the crankshaft position sensor, but no difference.

Re: Code 341

I've had something ressembling that and the Maf sensor hot wire had accumulated a dirt deposit due to faulty air filter. Cleaned the wire with alcohol and all came back to normal.
It has been suggested previously to disconnect the MAF sensor for a test to force the computer into a default operation mode and see if it makes a difference.

Re: Code 341

Tried another MAF sensor but still had the hesitation problem.
Also put in another IAT sensor - still get the code PO113.
Can anyone with a service manual help me trouble shoot the PO113 please??

Here is what my manual says about that code and the IAT:

The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is a thermistor, used to measure the temperature of the air entering the engine.
The powertrain control module (PCM) applies 5 volts through a pull-up resistor.
The sensor resistance is high when the intake air is cold and the PCM will monitor a high signal voltage on the IAT sensor signal circuit.
When the intake air warm, the sensor resistance becomes lower, causing the PCM to monitor a lower voltage.
If the PCM detects an excessively high IAT sensor signal voltage, a low temperature is indicated, and DTC P0113 will set.

You said have already changed the sensor, right? Not just swapped another one in and put the original back in? The reason I ask is because the code will only be cleared after 3 consecutive ignition cycles when the test of this system passes (is fixed).

I would suspect that if you changed the sensor already, there may be a wiring problem back to the PCM. If you can test the signals as the car warms up and see the reading change, that would be the best next step.

Take Care,

Re: Code 341

Thanks for your help.
I did indeed just try another IAT sensor then replace the original - but first I cleared the code with a scanner.
I checked the voltage and with the engine cold it was 5V.
Tomorrow I will check with the engine hot.
Thanks again.
