raced an Acura TL-S...

the other night i was criusin with a buddy of mine and was getting paced by a white acura TL-S. it was one of the new ones, 285 hp, 6 speed, a very nice car and from what i could tell was totally stock. i normally don't race when i have my 19's on cuz i usually get embarrassed but it's been a while since the maxima's seen any action so i was willing. we catch a light together and i rev up a bit and he bites. when the light went green his tires were squealin like crazy but he got the jump on me by about a half a car(my damn 19's suck for launches) and gained maybe another half a car or so up through third gear, then we hit another light. At the next light we go again up to third gear but i got a pretty decent launch and a good shift from 1-2(i actually got my 19's to chirp loudly which is a rarity) and this time he made absolutely no headway against me at all, we were right next to each other the entire time. i gotta say that i was expecting to get walked on, so i'm pretty happy to have kept neck and neck with a car that's got 30 more hp than me, especially with my heavy ass wheels on. i gotta catch one when i have my 17's on there and see if i can show 'em some tail lights.

Re: raced an Acura TL-S...

Sweet race...

Those Acura TL-S's are really nice cars my brother has an 03 TL-S but I'd say it's pretty evenly matched with your Maxima.

TL-S - 3623lbs - 286/256 = 12.66 lbs per hp...

02 Max - 3186lbs - 255/246 = 12.49 lbs per hp...

Both cars matched with a 6-speed you with your mods and rims and him stock.. Pretty close to a drivers race. I would be happy to drive either one both are very nice cars...

Ehh you have advanced timing and a catback exhaust. I'd say you have a few extra ponies. Good run nonetheless, and don't ever just look at the numbers game, as there is far more to the equation.
