Advice on cutting a wind screen

Hi
I'm about to build the Spiderman M1 2004 and the Renaissance instructions tell me to cut the top of the wind screen off. I've never done this and was looking for some advice on how to go about it.

Top picture on this page shows how the screen has to be cut.

Joel, I would say p/e saw will give you the cleanest cut. My

Either that or scriber, just put masking tape 1mm of the line (in to the cut area) and carefuly make first few passes and then little by little make deaper line, in the end carefully sand because when sanding glass may get small cracks all over. I wouldn't use dremel allthou it looks obvious just because of those cracks that can occure,

I did this in the past with the Dremel, using a thin metal saw (and I don´t drink alcohol the day before, that my hand won´t shake lol)

Believe me ... masking tape and ... sand it down! No risk in breaking the thing or damaging or scratching it.

Can you describe that process a bit more gulfclk? Do I mask at the "line"? And then sand until I reach the masking tape or what?

Exactly. Mask the line where you need the new border and then start with a #80 paper. When you get closer to the border, go to higher numbers so the finish will look better. Finish with #2000 or higher to get the gloss back.

Doing it this way (all by hand) gives you the safety and avoids to scratch the shield or even damage it as you still have the manual feeling.
