stupid question probably...
would turning your overdrive on or off have any effect on a car's acceleration??? obviously i'm not sure what the overdrive does so an explanation would help. i noticed when i turn it off while driving my rpm's go up about 500....

to add on, in mine, if im running a short course with another guy i just put mine in 2, it will rev your rpms like a bastard and give you shitty economy, but the advantages are when you let off you will not up shift, then down shift again, thowing off the balance of your car in a turn, and when you get back into the gas there will be no delay b/c your already in 2nd. not to mension you will get engine braking, so you wont have to heat and burn your brakes as much.
