My 95 PA transmission makes a racket and you can feel it kinda shudder when the trans. changes into Overdrive. Not really a clunking racket but more of a shudder, hard to describe. When it shifts into overdive is the only time I have noticed it.
Thanks for any help or tips. Bert |

Re: When shifts into OD hear/feel a shudder or clunk, 95 PA
This can be caused by a misfire , slipping TCC and/or bad tps, this requires a full scan with a high line scanner that can pick up trans functions also.

I am pretty sure it is not a misfire but not positive...
What is the TCC? Torque Converter? It does it on the upshift as well as the downshift. Sounds like the torque converter? I will get it scanned and see what the results are. The car only has 72,000 miles on it. I was thinking of replacing the filter in the trans and changing the trans. fluid and perhaps adding some Lucas trans additive but I doubt it will help. I also dont know if the trans has ever been serviced... Thanks for the help. Any more tips appreciated. Bert |

Hiya,
Atorque converter is often described as going over rumble strips during the shift. Hope this helps. TT |

You nailed it, that describes it perfectly.
So does the Torqueconverter just need replacing or is it more serious than that. Reckon how long it will last if I just drive it and dont replace/repair it? Thanks Bert |

Thanks for the replys so far.
I would like to gather more information on this problem, I tried searching the archives here but have not really been able to narrow down the search enough to help, so far. Can any of you folks provide a link to more info, or explain further? Is this an electrical problem such as a switch or is it a mechanical problem? Will the Torque Converter need replaced? Or do I simply need to have the vehicle scanned to determine the problem? Thanks for any tips or help. Bert |

H,
Sorry for the delay. I'm not sure how that failure plays out. I was under warranty so I had mine replaced. Good Luck. Also, you could just replace the converter but I know a new one can list for lots. TT |

I put some of this
http://www.lubegard.com/automotive/t...dder_fixx.html in it and it seems to have solved the problem, for now anyhow. Thanks for all the replies. Bert |
