Service Engine Light is Evil!
Alright so this has been around on my dash for a while. this annoying orange glow. I take it to advanced auto and they give me the common code 41, Camshaft No signal error. So I buy a new one of those guys and install it. Still got the same problem. The car will cough and sputter, almost, and sometimes does die when changing gear into any drive or reverse. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Re: Service Engine Light is Evil!
What year and how many miles on your car? This sounds like the magnet has come out of the cam gear!

Re: Service Engine Light is Evil!
I'd take it back to the same AutoZone and get another diagnostic check. My thoughts are that you'll see a new code because it has multiple malfunctions, or, if it's the same code, the pick-up sensor that reads the cam magnet pulses is defective or has a bad wiring connection.

Re: Service Engine Light is Evil!
At 190k, a new timing set may be long overdue as well.
