Oil soaked alternator
My 1995 SOHC 3.2 L Isuzu Trooper doesn't seem to leak oil, but the engine has a nice coating of oil all over the underside of it. I don't know where the oil is coming from, but the oil level seems to stay the same in the tank. The alternator gets enough oil on it and dies at approx 6 months. I am on my 3rd alternator in 1.5 years. Thank god for warranties. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Oil soaked alternator
Sounds more like a power steering pump or line leaking problem. PS pump is above the alternator. One guys opinion.

Re: Oil soaked alternator
I recently had the same problem with my 1995 trooper, after i checked it was noted that my powersteering pump, which was situated directly above the alternator was leaking oil on the alternator. but if you noticed that you constantly have to top up your powersteering oil, that should have rung a bell in your mind.
