Blazer stalls after battery disconnected!
Hi Guys, I am new here. I just bought a 2005 Blazer 4.3L engine. My SES light came on after going through a touchless car wash but engine seems to be running fine. I figured the the ignition system probably got damp which triggered the code. I disconnected the battery to clear the code, waited to see if it would re-appear. Code is now clear but engine stalls when I take foot off accelerator.
Lesson learned, never clear codes by disconnecting battery cable! Please Help. |

Re: Blazer stalls after battery disconnected!
10-4 on that.
And welcome to AF. A battery disconnect will not clear codes on the newer ones. Only wipes out the memory and sometimes the pcm forgets the base idle. If engine is damp or wet open hood and let it dry out. Take it for a drive and see if it relearns idle on it own. Let us know how it goes. MT

Re: Blazer stalls after battery disconnected!
Thanks for the advice MT.
The ses light was on for about a week before I tried clearing it by disconnecting the battery. I am pretty sure the engine has dried out by now as it runs fine. I started it up again and it seems to be running fine with out stalling. I gues it takes a while before the computer re-sets itself? No ses light coming on so far. Will let you guys know if anything else comes up! |
