1997 Deville Hard Start when cold

I have a 97 Deville with 100K+ miles. When cold it turns over quite a few times before it starts. When the car is warm it starts right away. I replaced the fuel filter and the problem still persists. Other than this problem the car runs fine and the check engine does not come on during the hard start condition. Any suggentions? Thanks

How recent was the last tune up, if it's had one?

Had new plugs about 30K miles ago.

Did you also replace the wires? What brand plugs did you use?

Autolite Platinum plugs were used (single not double platinum). The wires were not changed. Do you think it is an ignition problem rather than a fuel delivery problem?

I would check fuel pressure when cranking also, try a can of Chevron Techron, dirty injectors and carboned up intakes can also cause this.

Caddies seem to prefer the Delco platinum plugs over others. The wires have over 100K and are 10 years old. They are due. To me, the symptoms would indicate ignition difficulties.
FWIW
YMMV

Try the fuel pressure regulator also, that's a cheap and fast solution, they cost about $50 and you can put on in 3 minutes, my 98 was doing that and it fixed it immediately, if you have already checked plugs and so forth.
