Wheel trim

Does anybody have a prefrence of wheel well moulding? Im trying to find the best for my 72 Chevelle and some I see are crap not like oem.
Also would like the opinion of the best parts company price vs quality? Any Info would be appreciated.

Re: Wheel trim

Most of the big dealers like Year One, OPG, and Chevelle Classics will have at least two "levels" for body brightwork -- one will be the "cheapo" that just looks and fits like the original, and another (more expensive) "restoration" quality piece that will likely have the same finish and be made from the same material as the original.

It really depends what your build goals are -- don't buy the good stuff for wheels if you're going to be driving around a lot -- "uneven pavement" has a way of separating classic cars from good wheel trim real quick.

One more thing to remember -- our classics were not cut from the same tools as your 2007 whatever, so expect the best restoration stuff to have the same imperfections that it would have had 40 years ago. It's actually possible for newer stuff to look and fit better and last longer than the more expensive stuff because it has become less expensive to design, machine, and mass produce than a concours reproduction piece that has to rely on 60's tech and 07 labor to create.
