Is my tranny fluid low?

I have 1995 Windstar that when put into reverse backs up very slowly. All forward gears are OK. I haven't had a chance to checked the fluid yet. Anyone have any ideas? There are no funny noises.

Re: Is my tranny fluid low?

If it's not been done recently, you might want to consider changing the transmission fluid and filter anyway. I have no idea whether that has anything to do with your reverse weirdness though!

Re: Is my tranny fluid low?

If you van has a lot of miles on it the i dont know if i would change the fluid and filter cause u could do more harm than good just check the fluid level after u come back from the store and then u will know if it is low or not but dont go spend a lot of money if u dont have to!
