Lower control arm

99 passat 1.8T. My passanger side control arm broke with a "thump" noise and a screeching tire. Nice that OPP helped and tow was here quickly. Anyhow, I had it towed to VW dealer and they are going to fix it. What do you think the price could be? And any inputs?

watch out for a creak noise that may develop after vw "service".
I had upper and lower control arms replaced within 12 months!!!!!
1st was past warranty, $1800.00 cdn, second was under parts warr.
creak started 9 months after complete replace of upper and lower as well as stab. bar.
2nd replace of all components did not solve prob which led to of course vw suggestion the tie rods should be replaced. Guess what 2 days after $600cdn the noise was still there.
grumpy and annoyed by the persistent noise I bought a can of auto silicone lube for 6 bucks....and sprayed all the bolt points.
suprise!!! noise gone and I am out $500cdn.hmmm, wonder if the 6 buck solution earlier might have saved me alot of cash.
