Got a new car today, a 92 Mits Eclipse, 130k miles, I haven't checked the engine yet (no indication of model on outside), so it's either the 1.8 or the 2.0, non turbo. It's stick shift though.
This was an auction, donated car... my winning bid was 475$. It the front&rear bumper covers are cracked up and taped, so that made it look a little beat I guess, and a 10yr old car, ppl didn't wanna give over 475$ for it. Well, the title says it only had one owner, some NJ chick... so that's good =) The engine needs a little cleaning but runs fine, transmission seem great.
The only real problems are some of the visual glitches, like the bumer covers need some work to hold together and look better (right now they're taped up), need to fix driver side lock, the anti-sun-flap thingies that flip down & have a mirror, one is detached from the cieling, and the paintjob needs touch ups here and there.
So 475$ winning bid, plus some auction fees, title, registration, tax, etc.... total 650$. Now with an engine cleaning, maybe a tune up if necessary, and some misc item to fix the visual glitches, i'd say no more than 200$ more will go into the car. Not a bad deal, eh? =)
Btw, is there anything I can do to these lights? I really wanted clear tail lights like you can buy for a 2nd gen eclipse, but this one I've never seen clear tail lights for a rear like mine: (photo off the net, mine's black, and not a gsx, but it has that long double-redline style)
What the hell can I do with them, if someone has a link to clear-mod for this, plz post
