98' transmision

i went to get my truck inspected and it failed becuase the parking brake would not hold, so i went home and changed my rear brakes and when i went to back out of the drive way and the truck went no where so we checked the fluid and its just fine, all i can tell is that reverse does not engage drive still works but i get nothing out of reverse.

the bands are probably wore out on it
i have a problem with mine that when i put it in reverse, it goes forward, same with neutral, and you can feel it nudging when i put it in park..
