idle prblem
hey guys just did the oil change and trans. fluid on my 00 civic sir, and today at the lights all of a suddenly my idle went up to 1500 - 1800 rpm, even at operating temp the idle will bounce up and down. checked an vacuum hoses and they all are connected, what else could it be? i also cleaned the throttle body and after that still doing it, can it be from my intake i cleaned it as well but i don't understand why and how? anyone have this problem and know how to fix it??

check the throttle cable it could be sticking .Mine seems to be doing the same thing .when the rpm's go up try to keep one foot on the brake pedal and pull up the accelerator pedal to see if the rpms return to normal .if that solves it then your cable is sticking .well that was the case with mine .

I recently had the same problem... my problem was a dirty idle air control valve (iac), i had the check engine light on though. i don't know if that's whats wrong with yours but its just another suggestion. if you want to clean the valve there is another thread with a good write up here: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1575913
