Key fob.

I hear I can very easily add keyless entry to my 02 Silverado. I currently do not have keyless entry, but I do have power locks... so apparently I just need the correct key fob.

Can anyone verify this and/or point me to the correct key fob model number?

Thanks

Re: Key fob.

You sure you didn't already have keyless entry installed on the Silverado if you purchased it used?

The correct remote you need is FCC: KOBLEAR1XT, Part # 15042968

Re: Key fob.

Many thanks. That is the fob I purchased... I don't know if the vehicle had keyless entry. I did purchase it used. I don't think it would though because it's essentially base model. I have power locks, but not windows. Believe there is any chance of it working?

Re: Key fob.

I doubt it'll work. You'll need a receiver to pick up the signal from the fob. Even if there is one, they need to be on the same signal wave. Call up the dealer.

I don't understand how you can have power locks, but not windows. Especially with an '02. They go hand in hand. Unless the locks were installed aftermarket.

I'd call a dealership and talk to them about it.
