instrument cluster????? PLEASE HELP!

ok here goes.......my 95 aurora with 177000 miles on it just came back from tranny shop.......when i first brought it there it needed shift selenoids and it was leaking power steering fluid bad......plus for the past year or so instrument cluster and the information center would work then not work, work then not work.......so shift selenoids were replaced and upper power steering hose fixed the leak...also tranny flush was performed...anyways mechanic said everything was replaced but it didnt fix the problem...car is still stuck in 2nd gear.......when i first brought it there tons of codes came up when he scanned it....now after its all "fixed" only one code comes up......i didnt ask him the specific code but he said it was a cluster code.....he also said when instrument cluster is bad then it wont send any signals to the transmission which is y it still isnt shifting........i just replaced master brake cylinder a couple months ago......ecu, and shift selenoids.......any dieas on wut i need to do to get this problem fixed?.......ive dumped so much money into this pos and still the car isnt driveable...any help would be appreciated

Re: instrument cluster????? PLEASE HELP!

I have had the same problem. There are times on my 95 that the cluster will work. Only thing is that I can'tget any codes to come up. But since you mentioned yours Trans problem, mine is beginning to slip in 2nd gear and stick then release. So is you cluster still out? Mine works about 30 minutes each day then goes out. Now my a/c compressor bearings are shot. I think it all has to do with the computer.

Re: instrument cluster????? PLEASE HELP!

well my car isnt really driveable unless i wanna go sumwhere in second gear...i have driven it a couple times since i got it back from the shop......cluster is still intermittent.....i dont think its the computer because min eis brand new and problem is still here...im gonna try and buy a new cluster and hopefully that fixes the problem but if it doesnt im gettin rid of the car......i have a nice mustang that needs a little work so the money i get from the aurora i will just throw into the 5.0......if u diagnose yur car and get it fixed let me know though cause im at a stand still with this thing

Re: instrument cluster????? PLEASE HELP!

you need to ask the guy who put in the new shift solenoids in if he replaced the filter that is between them and put on the retaining bracket that comes in the kit. on '95's that filter can work its way out and the trans sticking in 2nd gear is a classic symtom of that.
