94 Grand Prix power window motor replacement help
I want to replace the power window motor on the passenger side door. I have the door cover off but can not figure out how to remove the motor. It looks like it is held in but rivets which I can remove but since the motor is inside the door and I can not see what will happen when I remove it. I'm sure it is hooked onto the window track somehow but I don't want parts flying off and not knowing where they belong. Any tips on how to safely remove the motor?
Thanks, Gary |

Re: 94 Grand Prix power window motor replacement help
You'll need to remove the entire window regulator assembly to replace the motor. The orignial is riveted, the replacement comes with bolts to re-install.

Thanks for the reply. My next question is how to get the regulator out from inside the door?

Unblot it from the window. Unbolt the regulator assy from the door. Unplug all the wires. Pull it out motor and assy and all.

Re: 94 Grand Prix power window motor replacement help
Thanks for the replies. I see where four rivets and a couple of bolts hold in it place but for the life of me I can't see where I can pull it out through the door. There are only a couple of small holes in the door to pull it through. Will the entire track and motor come out in one piece?
Thanks again |
