94 Grand Marquis - wipers

I have a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis that the windshield wipers work, but always park in up position to the far left of the windshield. Any suggestions?

Almost all Ford/Mercury that I have seen this happen on have been repaired by replacing the wiper motor.
