2.8 Running issues.

My 89 with the 2.8 will sometimes stall out as i come to a stop. Usually right as i'm about to stop or right after i've stopped, it will just die and i have to start it again. doesn't happen everytime though, just some of the time. Can't figure out what it would be.

Re: 2.8 Running issues.

At first it wasn't doing it too often, can't remember exactly when it would do it, but it got a bit worse after my muffler fell off on Monday, and now it does it every time i try to idle or pull up to a stop sign. It just won't idle anymore. It idles rough right before it dies. Could this be the MAF? or the Air filter? possible the fuel filter? maybe it's just lack of backpressure, since the muffler was a little loose for about a month before it came off.

Re: 2.8 Running issues.

Okay, i put on a new muffler and now i have my low end back, but it still won't idle. When you pull to a stop, it will just about die, then idle up to 600 RPM, then finally give out. I did the paperclip trick and it gave me codes 24 and and 34. Does ANYBODY know what to do?

Re: 2.8 Running issues.

Okay, got it fixed now. Get this, the idle screw had been retarded. I turned it back up and now it idles right where it used to, no problems at all. I am going to replace my vacuum lines however, as they are pretty worn as well.
