Ugly as sin IMO, but damned if I can't think of a better sports car!

Better looking than a Caterham IMO. At least it moves the game on a bit

Well, it is clearly an extension of the Lotus Super 7 that was introduced about 50 years ago.
Still, I think it looks good (really, how much styling freedom in such a small light car?). Although, fully enveloping bodywork would greatly increase top speed, even if it would lower the acceleration and handling potential. But it is made for acceleration and handling, and it is amazing at doing just that. After all, it weighs about 1000lbs with a 180hp motorcycle engine. It says the kit is 4000 pounds, does that include the engine? If so, that is an amazing deal, and would be the greatest kit car ever, IMO. I want one

With these types of cars, what you lose on the straight, you more than make up on the corners

YEah, and acceleration and handling are much more fun than top speed, IMO.

Like all racers (and turbo nutters
) say, straights are no fun. Its going through the turns as fast as possible that's the real rush. Thats why i see things like drag racing and obsession with 1/4 mile times as a bit of a joke. No wait, not a bit of a joke, a complete joke. cheers, jay |

I think drag racing is about bragging rights... not that thats a bad thing mind you, you can brag because you have a faster car, or you can brag that you're a better driver, even if you lose...
I prefer sports car racing This weekend on Speed, I watched a touring car race, and a spectacular GT race at Road Atlanta(even though they were a couple weeks old) where Peter Cunningham simply outdrove everyone else and won both races(first in an Integra, then in a supercharged NSX) over much more powerful cars. Then again, it was Road Atlanta, which emphasis handling over power, and the big straightaway is immediately after a tricky highspeed corner, so you can make up for a lack of power if you can corner well.Anyhoo, the S7 design will remain classic, no matter who makes it, or what it looks like. Maybe one of these days I'll have enough spare time to build a S7 kit

I really dont understand drag racing. It is truly all about the car... You dont really need a steering wheel if your oging to go in a straight line like that, you just need the push of a button and it is all automated!

Drag racing is indeed a joke, shame people take drag stats so seriously

Its a major sport here, with just about every car show featuring it in some area or another.

There is an awful lot of skill involved in drag racing, it's not just mashing the gas and hoping for the best... It still pales in comparison to real racing, but it's a fun way to race your friends...

Oh, definately, but drag racing isn't all that bad. I'd much rather get out on a road course in a sports car though.

I am sure poeple would rather watch that, but the facilities are not available everywhere, so with drag racing you can just use an abandoned airfield (everywhere after WWII)
