Transmission leak

I have a major transmission leak that only happens when the engine is on. A mechanic thinks it's the front seal and asked for $500 to replace it. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks!

Unhappy Re: Transmission leak

When I picked my WS at auction in jan05, I had the same problem. Momma would not stand for tranny fluid leaking on the driveway so I had to fix it. Pulled the transmission myself, what a pain in the rear. Only a few bucks for the torque converter seal but alot of hours. 500 sounds very reasonable to me, having done it myself, if had to do again would pay 500. good luck

Thanks for the info. I don't think I can pull the transmission out myself nor have the tools for doing it, so I left the car at the shop. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
