Hi Everybody. Any body have any idea why sometimes I cannot pull the key out of ignition? Sometimes after 10-15 saconds it will release it. Most of the time it does not. Is any one aware of anti theft feature on grand am. Its a pain in the butt starting the car 5 times to get the key out. It will shut the engine off but the panel lights and accesories and headligts stay on and you cannot turn the key past that point. Help! thanks

Re: 98 Grand Am GT Ignition.
If you've tried various keys to no avail then I would suggest a new ignition cylinder..

Re: 98 Grand Am GT Ignition.
I would agree with Jim, you are going to need a new ignition cylinder.

Re: 98 Grand Am GT Ignition.
Honda's will start with a screw drive if the lock cylinder fails, why do you think they are #1 on the stolen car list

Re: 98 Grand Am GT Ignition.
Well,lol...The older ones are easer to steel b/c they did not have the chip in the key like the new ones. The older ones you can use a scewdriver or rip out the wires and connect them if needed if you wanted to take your time. LOL...if you yelled at it and told you were going to get a lady weighing 500lbs..it will do anything you want it to do. J/K
