Help, running rough *cough*
I've got a 1990 cherokee sport, it's the 4.0L I6. It's running very rough, idling shuddering, and dying on the road. It has new plugs/cap/rotor/oil change etc. It has oil coming into the air cleaner, and a ton of oil sitting on the rockers under the valve cover. It's not smoking out the back. What can it be? Please help me save my jeep!

Re: Help, running rough *cough*
The oil in the aire cleaner is probably caused by oil blowby from the CCA. Check the hose running from the back/top of the valve cover to the manifold for cracks or blackage. You might want to replace that whole assembly, only $22 dollars at dealer.
The rest of your problem could be serveral areas: MAP sensor, IAC, TPS are the most common. I would start there with testing. |
