Power Drivers Seat & Interior Lights Questions
I just purchased a '97 with the Vulcan engine. Only 2 two things do not work and if someone can point me in the right direction to fix them myself it would be much appreciated.
Drivers Seat (powered) will not move at all. Fuse? If so, where located and what type should I order? The fuse box underneath the dash does not list Pwr Seats anywhere on its' cover. The interior lights do not come on when I open the door. I am not referring to the overheads as those have only an on/off switch and they work. Aren't there on-the-inside-door lights too? Fuse too? Thank you! |

Re: Power Drivers Seat & Interior Lights Questions
The driver's seat could be as simple as Circuit Breaker #4 in the Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay box. Or, you may have a bad connection under the seat (possibly unplugged by a vacuum cleaner nozzle?).
As for the interior lights not working, if you have the moonroof, make sure the dome light switch is set for "door" and not to "off." If you don't have a moonroof, or if the switch is set correctly, then make sure the bulb is okay. See if any of the other doors cause the dome light to come on as expected. If so, you probably have the common touchy door pin switch located within the door latch mechanism. There have been NUMEROUS posts on this forum regarding the switches. Essentially you'll want to clean them by spraying an electrical parts cleaner into the latch mechanism. Work the door a few times and your dome light will probably begin to work. If you have some Caig PreservIt, apply that to the latch/switch as well to make a long-lasting repair to the switch. -Rod |
