96 sunfire engine knock
I installed a new starter on my 96 sunfire and about 3 weeks after the engine started knocking. Its a really loud knocking sound, the engine starts perfect. I drove it about 60 kms from where it started knocking to home with the loud knocking sound nothing happened, I drove the car 80 & 90 kms per hr. could it be the engine or could it be some other problem. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check and make sure the starter is not loose. Since it didn't knock before the starter was changed that is where I would start. Also, remove the starter and make sure that the starter is not hitting the flywheel while it is running. One of the best ways to find out what is happening is to try to isolate where the noise is coming from, that should help find the problem.
