Fujimi Ferrari BB512

Besides cracking the filler above the rear bumper, I had some problems with this kit. I waited to glue on the separate pieces below the doors until after painting and the doors pulled in above the chassis. To get the lower sides to fit I had to cram scrap in behind the doors to push them out. I also ended up with an open area between the front bumper and the body. While it looks fine with a black bottom, the gap for the black stripe around the body is much more narrow at the doors than at the bumpers. Having aired my frustration.... I thought this was a great kit.

Re: Fujimi Ferrari BB512

Came out perfect despite the problems you mentioned (none of which I noticed by the way) Inspirational colour choice, looks really different to the usual reds that seem to be the norm with Ferraris.

Looks killer, fantastic color scheme. Would love to know what sort of paint and technique you used for the window/door trim...

Yes, very nice work. I also like the look of the rims very much. Do you mind if I ask how you achieved that natural white-ish aluminum finish?

Re: Fujimi Ferrari BB512

It's the new Fujimi kit and the wheels were just sprayed with Testors dullcoat because the photos I found showed the wheels looked like they were dull white-aluminum and they turned out perfect(dumb luck). I always mask and airbrush black trim because it's the only way I can get a straight line. It's well worth the time and effort.
