98 gtp wipers stop in the middle of windshield

their's a peice of steel that has one tooth on it.
it's bent or broken where do I fine a replacement.
and what is it called. I've been to junk yards
and they don't have a '98

A common problem with our GPs'. You're on the right track. That piece of steel is set at 90 degrees from factory. It gets bent due to ice / snow or other reasons but you can bend that piece back to the correct degree with a pair of pliers. Of course the wipers arms need to be removed along with the plastic cowl to access it. Hope this helps.

can I buy another one with out going to the dealership

That's my problem too . Where is that piece of metal located on the wiper motor? Do you have to pull the motor out to get to it ? Just got a warning ticket because of them being stuck upright . ARRGH

yes you have to remove the motor. I think it sit on top of the wiper
motor. By the way what state do you live in to be tickeed for your wiper being stuck up, don't the cops have anthing better to do

I live in WI . So get those wipers fixed or get a warning for obstructive vision .And they have nothing better to do on Saturdays . Thanx for the reply

the tab is part of the wiper motor crank arm assembly.
