Question '88 bronco dies whenever-starts whenever it wants..shuts off

this bronco runs great ...sometimes for days on end and can idle for hours but at some time it cuts out and shuts down and will not restart for some time..hours or next day....fuel system and delivery are good...stymied....anyone with knowledge to a sensor causing this or the main brain or distributor module or what please help...i'm afraid to take it out..and where is the main brain for this bronco....she's a buckin'....

The 'main brain' is just over your left foot. The ECU is located in the driver's side footwell. You probably should check your ignition module voltage, as well.

Thanks Truck...found Ecu In The Paasenger Foot Well....wrapped In Plastic And Duct Tape...previous Owner Says It Only Died When The Box Got Wet...so It's A Mess Down There...if You Mean I Should Check The Voltage To The Ecu What Should That Voltage Be?? I'm Assuming 12v And Can Check That Out...personally I Think That The Box Is Malfunctioning...it Obviously Did Get Wet At One Time And Is Wrapped In So Much Tape And Plastic I Doubt It Can Stay Cool...
