Ferrari F40 fitment problem (MPWR and others help needed)

Friends, i am going to start my F40 soon, today i have tried to dryfit the body to check if there are some problems, and they actually present in all their glory
Have a look please - this is how the engine cover looks with undertray attached to the body:

The other side almost fine:

But if the undertray is detached everything looks almost ok:

I know about the great thread MPWR have started long ago, and he also had some fitment problems, but all the pictures in his thread, concerning this problem, are not available now. Please give me your opinions what is the root of the problem and maybe someone has the photos or that thread saved.
I suppose that the problem in holes in undertray where the pins on the body should go (pretty sexy isn't it?) but the problem can be bigger than i think.

Ive got the same kit. It will help alot if you slightly push the rear bumper down, but make firm enough to where it will stay in position, this should help alot, maybe not perfect but it will help.
It should allow for more clearance.

Have you checked if the undertray is warped?

Generally its ok, i mean it is not defective or broken, not unusually curved or something. But the matter is that if you move the rear bumper down a bit, as Some Kid said, everything comes to normal:
Don't be confused - that's my wife's fingers

But the question here - how to fix it in the right position? I see one posibility - to warm the lower suspension area and bend it - but it so easily can be damaged or overdone so i am confused.

Man, how annoying is that?? Freaking Image Hovel.

I don't quite have time to properly fight with the thread to restore the images this afternoon, but here are the pics from the thread (can you see them now?)

Hopefully you can read the descriptions and captions in the original thread, and tell which pic is what in the meantime.

I would recommend not messing with the rear frame- the assembly is just too fragile to reposition it safely and correctly. If the front body shell is allowed to relax on the chassis, it will allow the engine lid to sit lower also. It still may not sit absolutely perfect, but it will vastly improve things. Mine is pretty good this way.

Thank you, mate! Now i can see all the pictures. I am stupid lazy monkey, i should have read the comments to the photos in the original thread - its all clear even without the photos, but somehow i decided it will be useless.
I have drilled them out to their limits...but now it sits just a bit better, so my problem is much worse than yours. There is a big gap until you press the rear bumper down 2-3 millimeters So now i am trying to find easy way to lower it...but all the ways are too close to total destruction.

Re: Ferrari F40 fitment problem (MPWR and others help needed)

My kit doesn't have the fitting problem (probably because it was produced when the mold was new), but I can re-create your problem by pushing down the driver-side hinge on the roof, so I'm guessing the roof might be deformed a bit. Another possible cause is that the pins on the body are pushed in too much. Check the bottom where the side sill and the chassis meet for a proper aliment, and also loosen the pins a bit.

The key to correct this kind of problem is to dry-fit as many body parts as possible, or the situation will only get worse. Dry-fit the rear window glass (which will probably raise the roof a bit) and the engine mount/upper rear suspension parts (which will lower the bumper) to see what happens.

havent u though when u fit the enging and suspension, then the chassis would be square? and then when u fit the body, it'll all be perfect

You are both right, that could happen, but i have dry fitted all the elements that can affect this parameter - engine and suspension, they actually don't. But doing that i have found some additional ways to adjust the gaps. But it's not so important now, because after the whole night of drilling, sanding and twisting i have come to rather satisfactory result:

I have drilled the slots as MPWR suggested (thanks for photos, man), i have twisted the rear bumper a bit (warming it with hairdryer) because one corner of it was a bit higher than the other and also sanded a little where the lid touches the bumper. No it looks much better. Thank you for all your ideas, you helped me a lot, friends.
