Information about Alpine Type X Mid-Bass

Thinking about purchasing a set of Alpine Type X 6.5" mid-bass kit to put in back of my Saturn station wagon's rear hatch door. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with these or knows what they sound like. I will also later be purchasing Alpine Type X 6.5" components up front also.

if you are going for SQ, don't put midbass (or any other speakers besides subs) behind you

Re: Information about Alpine Type X Mid-Bass

nothing ...... why would you wanna do that ? How often do you go to a concert and turn your back to the performer ? In a true sound quality vehicle (SQ) vehicle, you will rarely if ever find any speakers playing above 50-60 Hz that are installed behind you. The rare exceptions are ones with like 5.1, and that is very rare indeed.

Re: Information about Alpine Type X Mid-Bass

I got my kids sometimes ride with me but not THAT often. What I wanna do is get me a 99-00 Honda Civic SI and give the Saturn to my wife. That way we'd have our family vehicle (2004 Ford Freestar) and then give her the Saturn and then I'd have the Civic SI. But I'm thinking ya know maybe if I had the fronts replaced with Type X components and then Type X mid-bass in the rear hatch door with a 4-channel amp it might be perfect for her. Then Dynamat everything up real good.

IME 99% of women out there can't tell the difference between stock and upgraded, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Re: Information about Alpine Type X Mid-Bass

just some food for thought i got the new type r speakers. along with a pdx4-100 amp and they sound way better then any of my freinds stuff. so really if it is for your wife then just go with like that. with componts up front and the coaxials in the back it came to 251 dollers then 315 for the amp. plus all that is in a sedan version of the sw

Re: Information about Alpine Type X Mid-Bass

Where did you get the speakers from? $251 for components AND coaxials seems awfully cheap.
