IAC/TPS Adustment '89 3800 Series
I have searched and searched, but can't find anything specific.
Can anyone help me with adjusting the IAC and TPS on a '89 Buick with a 3800? I have had an high idle problem when driving, but not at park. By throwing reasonalble priced parts at it, I have change the nature of my problem. A new IAC improved the idle but no fix. (And no check engine light). A new TPS raised my idle significantly while driving and while parked. In fact, it seems as though the car wants stay the same RPM's while in any gear. The new TPS has also thrown a check enging code of 22, refering to low volatage at the TPS. The light always go off while accelerating and returning upon release. I have looked for a vacuum leak to no avail. Any ideas out there in Buick Land? Thanks in advanced. |

I put the old TPS back on and I also clean the MAF sensor. Engine is running almost great, rpm's are a little(maybe 150 high. I'm thinking the MAF sensor had been dirty and the carb spray helped. The problem now is the check engine light is still on while coasting/idling. Am assuming it still the 22 code, may check at Advanced Auto. Thanks for link MaxWedge.
