Both are tech support jobs. First one- 3:30pm until 12am, with Monday and Tuesday off. Second one, 6:00am until 2:30pm, Sunday and Monday off.

With that little one I saw a picture of last week? Even with one day off, I'd think just about everyone would be stretched pretty thin by that. If you dont need the job - I'd say dont do it. Given my opinion of you I think you could cut it if you had to though.

You have to ask yourself why do i have to do it?
If you are doing it for the money and for a short period of time(couple of months) then go for it. But if it for a long time....No. After seeing the pic of your daughter here last week i'm sure she would like to see her Dad at home. Kids grow up so quick and if you dont spend the time with them now they will be gone and you will regret the time missed. The money may be good on paye day...but it isn't worth it when your so fucked from working you cant spend any other time doing the things you enjoy. I done the same thing awhile back....but i look back now and i know that rest is very important to after almost losing everything i had.

that would be really sucky hours kris, but if you think you can handle it, go for it. I don't think I could do that though, too much time away from the family.

Underfucking statement of the century! (sorry Kris) As Pman said if your only going to do it for a very short while then go for it, You will be totaly fucked for the duration but after fighting fires it should be pretty easy. The only problem is you won't see your wife or kid at all during the time, except to be grumpy with them becasue you havnt had the 4 hours sleep your going to get every night. If both you and your wifie are willing to deal with that for a short time then good luck to you. Otherwise don't do it!

(stop trying, its a rhetorical question - 40K+ members can't be wrong!! ).You CAN do it. My best friend did it for almost exactly one year. Two full time jobs doing live-in care for people with mental disabilities (mostly Downs Syndrome patients). Technically no days off, two four-day work weeks (so only one doubleshift), but his work time did include overnights, so some of his working hours, he was asleep but on call for middle of the night emergencies, which were fairly frequent. And his longest consecutive stretch of working days without a day off was 93 (at the risk of going postal, he had to take a few shifts off)!! It also will depend on how mindless you can afford to be at work, because you will be a zombie. Just get out of one of the jobs when you start to really slip and make some mistakes. You can also afford to do it since you are married and can have your wife agree to shoulder most of the responsibility at home, i.e. cooking, cleaning, paying bills, and general care of your daughter and the household. :ylsuper I say go for it :sun: Best of luck dude. |

If it's tech support for the general public, good luck.....life in front of a monitor without relief, dealing with the semi-literate who don't understand their software would not suit me (even if Iwas a techie!),but if it's a short-term thing for a quick capital gain,go for it.Just make sure you give it away before it damages your relationships.
