Title says it all.
Just about to the point of cleaning it out and throwing a for sale sign on it, and wouldn't you know, it's not done giving me grief yet.
92 GL for those that remember.
First off, what genious at Ford decided to use a dou-threaded stud to hold the starter in?

Found that out when one of the brushes decided to to grenade out of the assembly. So a car that randomly doesn't start isn't a keen selling point. I laid under that thing for a freaking hour feeling like a dumby looking for the other "bolt" that should be holding the the starter to the transaxle housing. And on top of it, they mounted the negative ground cable to it to get all nice and corroded so it will break the moment you disturb it.
With that now resolved here inliays the
new problem. I notice a fairly good size puddle under the engine compartment the other day. Since I couldn't reach my arm far enough to get a good sample of what had leaked, I went to back the car up. Weeeellll, reverse back in time my first 'car' a 73 Nova with no power steering.
Thus the question is there anything I oughta know about changing the rack out because it is toast. (seals are MIA)
