94 Passport T-connector plug in for trailer lights

I am looking to see if there is a factory plug in and where it is located for the T-connecor wiring harness. Someone mentioned it being behind the jack but I removed the jack and didn't see anything except the plate it rests on. I just purchased a boat and bought the connector to hook up the trailer lights but I want to get an idea of where it is at first before I go digging.

I don't know specifically but they are usually under the rear of the car down around the fuel tank or near the rear bumper. Could be on one side or the other but usually always under the car. I have a 94 Rodeo, I'll take a look at where mine is.

The plug in for the trailer lights being in the jack holder compartment might me a 2nd Gen. thing, but thats was where my pigtail was. Andie

My connection - at time of purchase in March of '98, for the '97 model year, was back by the bumper/fuel tank.

I too think the jack location area is a 2nd generation thing, but, I'm not 100% positive.

I highly recommend you disconnect your trailer wiring harness when not needed though and just carry it in the truck with you. Prevents the weather from beating on it constantly.

Doesn't seem to be behind the jack. I will look back by the bumber/fuel tank. Little nervous about pulling a 21' boat but it is only 50 miles and all flat.

Not exactly the ideal towing vehicle for a boat that size. Just be careful and make sure the trailer brakes are working.

Make sure you're using the *power mode* button, if you have an automatic, it helps immensly.

How much does your boat weight?

I've pulled a boat right at 20' that weighs 4,000#'s for years behind my '97 Rodeo; even pulled it with a '91 Rodeo that we owned for 12yrs. Pulled that boat over half the Continent, up/down mountains, flat-land country, you name it - the '97 Rodeo kept her more in control, but both trucks had decent control in all types of weather.

Just be sure to change your auto tranny fluid - partial drain/refills every 15k miles if you tow more then 2-3 times in a year. And, keep her slow during cross-winds.

Word of wise, be sure to have more then 35psi of air in all 4 tires; i.e 36 front/38 rear - stabilizes the load immensly.

The boat weighs about 2900 punds with the motor. I just had the trans fluid changed and checked all the tires.I also located the T-connector plug in. It was under the bumber by the tank. All the lights work. I read up on the power mode and will make sure I have this on while trailering. Thanks for all the help guys.
