60th Anni Build: Ferrari F50

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted anything here. I was too busy with school and work (but I'm graduating in 2 days Yay!!, so more modelling?? or work?? LOL)

Anyway, here is my mostly OOB Tamiya F50 painted with TS-14 and TS-33 Dull Red for the interior. I've got this color combo from MPWR who thought that black F-50 might looks cool. I certainly hope it does.

The engine is blackwashed and bmf-ed. I cleared the CF and got wrinkled like that. Damn Tamiya CF!

I BMF-ed and smoked the carpet.

I hope you guys enjoy it. Comments and critics always welcomed.

Paint is gorgeous!!! And a great choice too!!!!! Its too bad on the rear engine fenders.... Tamiya Clear is very unpredictable.... thats why I use 2 part Dupont!!!

I like in black, like the finishing, like the GT2 BBSes but please... redo those fenders... those apart, great job .

Very very sinister looking in black with those cool BBS-es!

And I have to agree with Goinc and co. , sadly!

Those fender decals need to be redone then it'll be purrfect!

I agree with Oli and the others. It has a mean stance, too.

Nice clean build, and thanks for doing it in black too! Those wheels seem to be more appropriate for a Porsche, but they look great on a Ferrari too!

Where did you get Micro-se/sol?? I can't seem to find it on my local LHS or online. Do they sell it online?

I have the Tamiya yellow kit. No chance of me painting it yellow now that's for sure :-)

Re: 60th Anni Build: Ferrari F50

Good looking build! I definately like it in black. But with those wheels, I probably would have done the centres on gunmetal instead of gold.

If you are considering redoing the CF on the wheel arches, I made a photocop of the kit decals to use as patterns for aftermarket decals. If you'd like, I may be able to send you a copy for you to use as patterns.

Microset/sol are the same thing, but microset has a bit more water in it. I like the weaker solution myself. Bare Metal Foil distributes it, and it's defiantely availible online. But there are other options as well- lately I like Gunze Mr. Mark Softer.
