84' Cj-7 Carb Issue

I have an 84 CJ-7 w/ 258CU, engine, manuel tranny, it has the original "electric"" carb which lately has given me porblems idling. I was looking at the Weber carbs and was wondering if the couple they show are a good replacement for the crappy electric controled carb I presently have?

I'd think that a new carb would help out; as long as it flows about the same CFM you should be fine (figuring no other modifications)

I would not suggest whining.

And after all, it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Re: 84' Cj-7 Carb Issue

For my 89 Yj 258 carb, my stock carb is out and a weber 400cfm double barrel is in. Works wonderfully. It's and electric choke, but now wich I had a mechanical. I just like less electric though.. makes it more manly in my mind.
And yeah.. replace then repent man.

89YJunky, welcome to AF (if I haven't said hello yet) and thanks for the good info.

Please check the dates on threads prior to posting; this one was dead almost 11 months...generally we don't post if it's over about 60 days old.

Closed.
