engine noise

Hello i have a 04 grand prix gt.... When i make a hard left turn giving the car gas i hear a whining noise coming from the engine... The noise will last for a few minutes then eventually go away.... Seems like it always starts doing it when i take a hard left turn.... any ideas.....

powersteering pump. i have an 06 with 37,000mi on it, my does the same thing.Checked the fluid, looks good. Not sure why. If it gets any worse, i will bring it in. I suggest you bring it into the shop as well, and have them look at it. If it was going to be anything else, i would say bad pully, but i dont think so.mmmm..

ill have to check that out.... is anyone else having this problem with the pump?? Anyone know what its gonna cost or take to fix

My '04 (139K miles) does the same thing. The fluid level is fine. The whining from the pump started at about 42K. I've been ignoring the noise until the pump gives up the ghost.

Same here. You think it could be a line pressure problem? Strange why these cars do this.
