Need help with 92 caprice dont know what to do?

Well i have a 1992 Chevy Caprice not very much changed on it as far as performance except for dual flowmasters and high performance spark plugs and wires. I wanna start upgrading my car for speed, horsepower, torqu, etc., but i dont know where to begin. I dont have much money at the moment to work with so i want to start out with the cheapest upgrades that are available or the most noticable upgrades that i can do. I dont have much experience with working on cars but i can atleast change my own oil, spark plugs, and wires, u know the basics. I know alot about car audio installation if that helps alittle. Can anyone help me and give me a few pointers? It is 5.0 liters.

As with almost every small block Chevy, all the power it will make will be determined by the cam and heads. Flow more air through the engine, and it will make more power.

If you're not stumbling over large sacks of cash just lying around, I'd suggest you spend what you need to to return the engine and transmission to peak stock operating performance, then spend some time researching the ins and outs of the SBC engine, and devise a plan for when that cash starts to pile up again.

Agreed. There isn't all that much that can be done to make a significant difference in power without spending some money. Friction and air flow are the two biggest things that affect an engine's power. To help reduce a little bit of the internal friction, next time you change your oil, use a quart of Lucas oil. It doesn't make any significant differance, but it's a small step towards getting a little more and enhancing engine life. Also try using Lucas transmission fix... with that you will notice a much greater difference in how your transmission performs.
