LT1 Performance....
Well, hello there...
Lets see, I finally and...got rid of imports and went back to american opcorn:So...lets see...I have a 1994 FireBird Formula V8 (LT1) So...basically it is just stock right now.. I want to make it a beast, not looking to go all crazy...but just make it sound real nice...and that is all I need...I might be supercharging it...yes or no? I can find a super charger, and put that baby on there...but would that require a new hood as well? (I think it probably would, but lets make sure now..) I am getting a list of stuff...So far I am getting.. New Headers (Still looking to see what is good) New Exhaust (Mm, dunno what kind yet...want it to sound nice though) New Intake So...if anybody knows what is a good supe up for about 400-500hp...let me know... =) Thank you. Re: LT1 Performance....
For headers, go with Pacesetter longtubes. Best bang-for-the-buck out there, no question. Exhaust, I suggest true-duals, maybe from TSP. You can supercharge it and you won't need a new hood. You can't run much boost on an LT1 without internals though. I think the numbers for a stock-internal motor are 6psi non-intercooled or 8psi intercooled. Motor won't last forever though. If you want to stay N/A, I've heard of stock cubed N/A LT1's running 500hp with a radical H/C setup.
