Oil Level?

I posted this question in the Engine forum, but, it's probably more at home in here, anyway....
Just a quick question... where is the oil level supposed to be on the dip stick? I've heard in between the L and the H, to the top at the H... I don't know which to believe.. I just changed my oil (I do it my self for the joy I guess, and the Valvoline Synthetic...) and it's at the top of the threads right at the bottom of the H on the dip stick.. is this ok? Or am I harming the engine with too much oil? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

Well, that's about where I keep mine, so if we're hurting our engines, it's in good company :o
