Tire Advice

So i'm looking into getting some new tires since i've just about worn out my eagle f1 gs-d3s. Anyone have some good suggestions? They have to be atleast Z rated.

Re: Tire Advice

Kuhmo Ecsta 712. They are WR rated and won't hydroplane.

Oh, and they don't cost an arm and a leg.

Re: Tire Advice

If you care about cheap....get some hankooks....great tires, and very underrated. Ive also heard some great things about the BF's, performance wise and also how they look.

Re: Tire Advice

get the eagles back! the GSD3's are awesome! they look bad-ass.. and they're the best in water. ive driven on the BFgoodrich tires before.. but they slide a lot more on water then the eagles do. going into turns i can feel my ass slide w. the BF's but with the eagles it doesnt even bump. big difference! ive gotten a bunch of my friends to change over the the eagles..

Re: Tire Advice

I don't plan on driving the camaro in the rain this summer, so I just ordered 4 bfg gforce kd. I had the kdw on it for the last couple of years, didn't have any problems in the rain just had to drive sensibly. Doesn't matter what kind of tire you have, they will hydroplane if there is enough water on the road. My xterra will hydroplane in very heavy rain if I'm going too fast, and that's got aggressive tires on it.

Re: Tire Advice

BFG's are great in dry weather traction not the best in wet weather or tread wear department. Kumho Ecstas get my vote or if u wanna pay lil more Yoko's they dont wear for shit but they also arent that great for dry traction (racing)

Re: Tire Advice

This summer, I'm going with Nitto 450 streets up front and Nitto 555R's (drag radials) out back. I've heard good things. Slightly cheaper than the BFG T/A KDW's.

Re: Tire Advice

hm.. i use the Eagle f1gsd3 and in water it wont hydroplane going over 70. (i live in hawaii so it rains almost every fuggin day...we had a time when it rained OVER 40days/nights..not constant, but at least once a day.)

the kdw's i can actually feel hydroplane...

then again, they're on fat tires..so that prolly makes it worse although the eagles are on the same size.

285's..?

just my 2cents. i like the grip on the bf's on dry tho. so +1 for that if youre not gonna drive in rain

Re: Tire Advice

Anyone tried this one?

Raptor ZR

Ultra High Performance Summer

Michelin North America Inc. has introduced a new line of ultra-high performance tires -- the Riken Raptor ZR.The Riken Raptor ZR tire has a directional tread design and a "waved" center rib to help channel water away from the footprint; oversized swept-back lateral rib elements for maximum grip during cornering; and rubber compounds that help the tire maintain its shape.
