Time for more mods.......

Truck went back under the knife this weekend. I think I've taken this cam as deep into the 11s as I can with the truck. I decided to go with the Magic Stick 3 237/242, .603"/.609" 113 lsa. I'm also upgrading from the stock truck intake to the ls6 intake. Should be down for a few weeks, because I have to upgrade the springs, pushrods, retainers, etc. I've got high expectations with the new setup. I'm really looking for 10s out of it this fall.

Re: Time for more mods.......

You're doing all that on the stock intake manifold? Damn.

If I were you, I'd say skip the LS6 intake manifold and just go for the FAST 90mm intake. With that big of a cam, and the valvetrain to back it up... the intake is still your weak spot when it comes to flow.

Not to say the LS6 isn't a bad intake... just if you're going to upgrade, might as well go for the best you can.

Impressive though, that the stock intake manifold has gotten you this far.

Yeah, I gotta agree with Matt. If you're gonna upgrade it, especially with the magic stick cam you are putting in, then put in the Fast 90 intake. I'm sure most people on ls1tech will concur.

Also, why are you modding the truck soo much? You already have two fast rides (Camaro SS and the truck).

You do realize the truck he is modding is the one you said was already fast, right? :-P he just wants to go fast-er!

445hp 453tq on a terrible tune. Third gear pull with converter locked. The stock truck intake is very restrictive for these larger cams. It made maximum hp at 5500rpms and maximum torque at 4600rpms.

The intake is definately something that is in consideration. I've tossed around the idea of the fast, the ls6, and the vic jr. If I come up on a used fast pretty cheap, I'll definately go that route, but its hard for me to shell out new price kind for the 90/90 setup. I'm also keeping my eyes peeled for these guys that are starting to test out the l92 intake/heads setup on these trucks. The only advantage to the ls6 swap right now is cost. Only thing is that's never been a deciding point with the truck yet anyway.

The camaro is still my main means of transportation to and from work. It's got the nitrous kit on it from the truck, so its definately no slouch for the time being. I hope to get some good street vids with it this weekend. It will no doubt surprise a few local cars that think it still runs 13.60s.

Re: Time for more mods.......

nice truck i just restarting working on my car, I have a 95 ford escort, im maybe 1/4 of the way done i did get it repainted thenevery other escort in this forsaken place got painted the same color its not even stock paint AGH , besides that its ok. Im redoing the interior black leather seats, black carpet, black or gray suide for the doors, and red oak or cherry wood trim havent decided. But the main part i cant wait for is when i swap the engine out for a 99 audi A4 and convert it to a allwheel drive and make it duel exhaust. After that gets finished its getting repainted one more time im getting night hawk black and i swear if some one copies me again AGHHHH back on point. if you have any other ideas which may work out better let me know thanks, and sorry this was a long post but i had lots to say.

lol really? i had no idea you could do that with an escort. What kind of major modifications do you think you will need to do to make all that work?

I dont think you can fit a 1.8t engine in an escort, its already cramp in there as it is and the 1.8t takes up alot more room than the 2.0 in the ford. Here's a thought, just buy an audi TT AWD cause the price its gonna cost for the engine, the frame work, and the AWD Conversion its going to cost you more than 2 used Audi TT's

Re: Time for more mods.......

well i dont like the tt and im doing this because i cant sell the car it was my older brothers and he passed away. But also mine is a 1.9 (1.8s are canadian version) not much diff i know but still. I mostly doin this to be unique, it bothers me when people copy me or mine friends, i dont think they mean to (thats only for a very few) but i get suspicous when a escort of the same year, make, and model role up next to me with the same paint job, wing, and interior design as me and remember my paint is not factory either.
