How often does your Air Suspension Pump Run?
Hello,I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer Expedition 5.4 and it seems weird that a new pump would run every time after the truck is shut off and restarted . The pump seems to release the pressure. My 1998 Explorer seems to hold the air pressure. Any help would be Appreciated. Peace,Gary

I actually went through all the lines and fixed some small leaks and that cured most of it. You figure that the air lines are 1/8 inch diameter so they do not hold much air. A very small leak will cause your vehicle to adjust by turning on the compressor. If you are looking at fixing it yourself then get some spray bottles of leak detector bubbles and start spraying from the back air bag lines all the way to the front. Pay atention to the couplings and especially the "Y" couplings. ANY bubbles at all are indicative of a leak and with the small tubing, it does not take anything to lower the vehicle enough to make the compressor turn back on! |

Re: How often does your Air Suspension Pump Run?
I have a 98 exp, mine use to run alot. About 2 1/2 yrs ago, the dealership told me that is should not do that. They check the air bags on the rear and discovered that they had several leaks and that was why the compressor was running all the time. Once the problem was fix, everything worked out.
