Manifold gasket type

I have a 99 Blazer 4x4 - 4.3L. My manifold gasket is leaking. Does it matter what manufactures gasket i use? Everybody says to use GM parts on Blazers. I was going to get Fel Pro - Pro series gasket for my truck. Thanks for any help.

Re: Manifold gasket type

I have an S-10 Blazer and if the manifold gasket was bad I'd use whatever was recommended through the parts store. Worse that can happen is they have to honor a replacement if the original goes bad. As far as horror stories, well it's all relative. Only experience can tell you what is right and what is not.

Hope this helps.

Re: Manifold gasket type

Fel Pro makes a good gasket for these engines. If I had to do gaskets, my opinion, I think its a toss up between the Fel Pro and the OEM for this application.
